Your Facilitators:
Anki Groening:
Anki is a mother, a former midwife, a wild birth keeper, a women’s mystery teacher and a lover of all things wild and magic. Anki supports women to deepen their connection to the sacred feminine through rites of passage, ceremony and earth centred living. Anki serves the goddess and is a humble student to life’s forever unfolding mystery. Anki had the vision to create the Journey of the wild feminine as a way to bring women together to remember the sacred ways of womanhood and deepen their connection to the land and spirit.
Anki will be facilitating the Journey of the wild feminine, together with other women from her community, offering a variety of deep transformative practices and experiences to enable deep healing to take place. Anki has explored the path of the sacred feminine since becoming pregnant with her first child at age 19. This led her down a path of discovery and transformation, seeking more connected ways of living, birthing, raising children, relationships, creating sisterhood and community.
Anki worked as a homebirth midwife from 2011-2016
Anki is a graduate of the school of shamanic womancraft 2012
Completed a masters in midwifery in 2008
Sara Bear:
Sara is a mother of two, yoga and meditation teacher, and supporter and facilitator of singing, drumming and healing circles. She lives on the land where she embraces natural and sustainable living practices and is passionate about creating opportunities for men and women to come together to share, heal and awaken to the inner and outer landscapes of beauty that invoke a desire to create positive and meaningful change within and without.
After 15 years of practising Yoga, Sara completed a 2-year diploma of Yogic Studies through the Academy of Yoga Science in 2015 and now teaches traditional Hatha Yoga in her local Community. Sara approaches this style gently, inviting the student to deepen their self-awareness and create a loving connection between mind, body, energy, breath and Spirit.
Sara will co-facilitate the journey of the wild feminine with Anki over the course of the four gatherings. Sara offers deep wisdom and understanding in supporting people through big transitions in life. She holds a space of deep humility and compassion and offers a deep presence with her sweet and gentle ways.
Bec McGuire:
Bec is a community herbalist that turns geeky science into love for plants. In a time where folk offer theories and opinions based on book learning Bec is an active practitioner of traditional western herbalism. Her background in botany and gardening have allowed her to journey over 3 continents and she has been practising the art and science of plant healing for over a decade.
Bec has spent years training particularly with medical and community herbalists in North America including Chanchal Cabrera who she apprenticed with for a year, Wild Seeds School of Herbal Studies, Paul Bergner, Rosemary Gladstar and Aviva Romm. She has also taken classes with a number of other awesome herbalists: Della Rice Sylvester (Cowichan Elder) Ryan Drum, and Sean Donahue to name a few and has a degree in BSc Conservation Biology/Ecology.
Inspired by a need for greater connection among her regional community she founded Wise Women Gathering 2017 and Rad Herb in November 2018.
Bec is extremely passionate about high-quality medicine making and is at the moment building a cob apothecary on her permaculture farm Wyndhamfell.
